Emergence - An Immersive Exhibit by Jasna Boudard

“Emergence” is a video series by our artist in residency Jasna Boudard, exploring embodied flow through projections.

The videos feature multiple experiments of pouring paint in water. The results are then flipped upside down to create a sensation of emergence when projected large scale on a gallery wall. The mesmerizing and photogenic quality of the flowing colors seduce the viewers into immersing themselves in the projected space, creating an interactive and embodied relationship between the viewer and the work.

Jasna Boudard is a new media artist based in Austin, TX.

Since childhood, she has expressed herself through different mediums such as drawing, painting, and performance. This lead her to  discovering her true creative voice through cameras and projectors.

Her goal is to create immersive visual experiences using photography and video art to explore movement, light, and connection. She works intuitively by recording lived moments and translating them into "dream-like" reality, often through projection art installations.

Originally French and Bangladeshi and raised across three continents, her international journey has greatly informed her work and my philosophy of seeking unity in diversity. Jasna has a Masters in Fine Arts and exhibited her work across Europe, Asia, Africa, and all over the United States.

This immersive exhibit is free and open to the public Jan 25-28.
